Gary Szabo is an IT Management Consultant who specializes in helping organizations achieve their goals with technology. As a “CIO for Hire,” Gary helps firms who may have IT staff with great day-to-day tech chops, but not the experience in long-term goal setting, negotiating with the C-Suite, and providing strategic leadership.
Gary has been a senior IT leader in the private sector, in nonprofit management, and higher education for 24 years in Tulsa and Seattle. He was also Vice-President of IT & Infrastructure at the Tulsa Area United Way during a period of structural rebirth and pivoting to cloud technologies, as well as deep dives into green technology solutions to lower carbon footprints of buildings and save on operating costs.
His firm Mindful Technologies was formed in 2002 and worked extensively with Tulsa area foundations and nonprofits, as well as firms in the energy, creative, medical, education, and media sectors.
In this period of COVID-19, he’s helped advise and migrate local retail firms to new online sales platforms — melding his marketing saavy with on-the-ground tech needs to help businesses thrive and survive.
